    swallows in the nest are not to be killed or interfered with. The old ones will not have their nests knocked down. If they do not return to the eaves but desert their nests it is a sign that some misfortune is coming to the household.
    If the sea gulls are seen flying inland it is a sign of bad weather. If the crows fly low it is the sign of snow. If the cuckoo arrives late in the season it is a sign of bad weather and if she arrives early the coming weather will be good.
