- Travelling folk still come to my home very often. Generally it is the same people that come for years. They are not very poor, because they have a lot of things to sell, such as gallons, basins, tin plates porringers and a lot of other small articles also. The people buy from them because they are generally better than what you would get in the shop. They usually stay longer than one night. They stay in tents along the road. Some of them are welcome and others are not. The alms they ask for are bread, flour, milk potatoes and other things also.(continues on next page)
