  1. When the bride is stepping into her new home , she should take the first step with her right foot, as it is unlucky to step in first with the left.
    Marriages generally take place before Lent and also before Advent. On the day of the marriage if the sun shines on the bride, she will be happy and if it does not she will not be happy. The wedding breakfast is generally served in the bride's house.
    Marriages often take place on a Wednesday, for it is said to be the luckiest day of the week. On the night after the wedding "Straw boys" go to the house and
