were digging (in a fort), they found a big hole and a stone across the hole. The men moved the stone away, and some of them let a stone fall into the hole and it went down into the earth. They could hear it rattling going down.
It is also said that once upon a time a man cut a bush in a fort in Meehan's field. The man got a thorn in his finger and it got very sore. He went to a doctor and the doctor could not cure it. As he was coming home he met an old man. The old man asked him what happened to his hand and he told him. The old man told him to leave back the bush and he did so and his finger got better.
