    After this the churn is scalded, all the things belonging to it are scalded also and left ready for the next day.
    There are a lot of stories told about churning and here is one of them.
    Once upon a time there lived a woman in Granard. One day she churned and she had such alot of butter she did not know what to do with it. At last she thought of a plan she put the butter on the trencher and left it in the dairy.
    That evening she went for a message to the town.
