- There was a big wind in the year 1839. It did a lot of harm. A lot of trees were blown up from their roots and a lot of houses were blown down. There were a lot of cattle killed and people also. The wind lasted for three weeks. There were also a lot of houses blown in the district.
In the year 1915 there was a terrible snow storm in the Co Longford. The houses in Granard were covered and nothing could be seen but the tops of the chimneys.(continues on next page)- Collector
