  1. There is a lot of old rhymes saying about birds and fowl.
An old rhyme about thee magpie is
    1 for sorrow
    2 for joy
    3 for a wedding
    4 for a boy
    5 for silver
    6 for gold
7 for the story that never was told..
A Robin red breast in a cage
Sets all heaven in a rage
They who hunt the little wren
Shall never be loved by men.
If the cock crows in on the door it is the sign of somebody coming.
A crowing hen brings ill luck to the owner
If the robin sits on the top of a bush in the morning it is the sign of a good day.
