  1. The Barley Song
This time last year to Ross I did go
I came from the Hook and passed through Coolroe.
And I met an old farmer named Martin Kehoe
Going to Ross with his sample of Barley.
    ii
I stopped at Pat Sullivans at the cross of Dunmain
Went in to see Mary and have a small drain
And there was an old woman named Johanna Kane
And she arguing with Katherine Carley.
    iii
With the higging and sobbing you would think they would choke
Saying Johanna honey last year I was broke
And I went into Ross to auction my yoke
And the Landlord came up and he snarling.
    iv
The Barley t'was bad and the grain it was small
And the Blocker from Strangmans wouldn't buy it at all.
I went to the Pawn to put in my shawl
Four shillings I could rise on it hardly
And who should I meet but the Landlord again
And he asking the price of my Barley
    v
The last fair day of Ross and I selling a young foal
