  1. There is a fairy fort in Ballygarvan it is called a rath. All the raths are not in view of each other.
    All the raths that I know of are circular in shape.
    There are generally trees and earth around the raths. There is a gap going into the rath. The gap is for the use of the men of ninety eight they had it for their fort. There forts were made by the Irish long ago they lived in them. The fairies and Leipreachans were supposed to live in there forts too. In the in Ballygarvan it is said that a big black man was seen. Mrs Eleanor of Ballygarvan was going to Mass one Friday morning and the black man came out of the
