    slowly a particle of rock slided by, and then they slipped them inside. The congregation had scattered and the young made a dash for safety.
    He ran on, darting in and out among the bushes trying to shake the pursuers off, but somehow he could not. They seemed to be gaining on him, mentally he prayed for guidance, but he was stumbling and falling now, his breath was coming in long sobs while the perspiration poured off his face. On, on, on, his trousers was torn in shreds now and his hair was clammy and matted against his head, how long more could he keep up? he wondered. He could hear the savage curses of the soldiers now. They had lost his track for a few minutes but they found it again. They came on with a rush, their guns in their hands ready to fire at the first opportunity they got.
