- There was a woman one time whose name was Mrs O'Brien. During the Battle in New Ross this woman used to bring food to the Insurgents. When anybody would get wounded she used to attend to them herself. The ointment that she used was in colour, dark brown. One of the officers of the Irish Army heard of what she was doing and he was so delighted that when the battle was over he went to look for her and found her living in "Cul na Cua" and he married her.
