- (continued from previous page)watch in the Churchyard, when a big black dog leaped up on the churchyard wall, with fire flying out of his eyes and mouth. The men ran away in terror.
There was a little shop down the road, where an old woman lived. They knocked on the door and the old woman opened it to them. They went inside and asked her to make "a drop of tay" for them as they were nearly dead with fright. They then told her the story about the big "devil" that ran them out of the churchyard. When the had drunk the tea they said that the corpse would have to take care of itself, and they went home and never went near the Churchyard any more.- Collector
