  1. I have no churn at home but my aunt has one which I will now describe.
    The frame which is supporting the churn is about three feet high and the churn is the shape of a barrel. It is an end-over-end churn with two handles and a lid which is fastened on with screws and on the lid is a brass air vent which is pressed to let out the gas.
    The different utensils used when churning are the keeler, two butter spades and two or three butter dishes which are all well scalded and salted to the butter from sticking to them.
