- Long ago in this district there were great hurling matches played and one great match still remembered by the old folk here was a hurling match played eighty years ago between Castlebridge and Killisk, a place near the Ballagh about five miles from this village.
The teams playing were Castlebridge and Killisk
There were twenty men on each side and the teams were picked by tossing up a slate, wet on one side and dry on the other and calling out "Wet or Dry" just like we would say "Heads or(continues on next page)- Collector
