    Many times neighbours houses were surrounded and searched by the blood thirsty Yoes for this brave women, whom they never caught.
    One day when riding towards Lacken cross-roads one of her many friends was watching to warn her that the Soldiers were watching for her return. She jumped from her horse which made off at a gallop towards Kilcorral and General Madge grabbing as she went a hand full of dried bruss or twigs entered the empty cabin on the cross and started a fire on the empty hearth, and when the soldiers came she was like many a lone women sitting
