Ardcavan was founded by St. Comhain in the sixth century. Begerin was founded by St. Ibar in the sixth century it was a great seat of learning then.
At one time there were over five hundred Students there they came from all parts of Europe.
Ardcavan and Ardcolm are very old ruins.
