    Many of these birds are used to foretell the weather. If the swallows fly low it is a sign of rain but when they fly high it is a sign of fine weather.
    It is a sign of a storm when the seagulls come into the land, but to hear the Curlew whistle is a sign of fine weather. To hear the cat-owl at nightime is a sign of rain, but to hear the woodquest is a sign of fine weather.
