    the word is sometimes used to mean a deep trench containing water - at other times it is applied to the ditch which stands above such a trench - the word is pronounced sconce.

    Coileán.
    Applied (jokingly) to a young boy - (the young coileán) (or, He was a hardy young coileán).
    Bróg.
    The word is applied to old, or very strong boots.
    The plural "brogues" is often to be heard.
    pus:
    When I abused him he put a pus on him.
    Dromán:
    The web or leather belt placed around the horse near his shoulders when he is pulling the harrow etc.
    Seach:
    Whitethorn - the plural used is "sceachs"
    maol:
    a 'meel' cow.
    cogar:
    They were 'coggerin" together.
    Flaitheamhaileach:-
    He was very "flahoo-luk" with things that were not his own.
