    Near Scarawalsh in the valley between the Slaney and Marshalstown is a place called Clovass in which grows a large Holly Tree. There are many old tales connected with that tree.
    Long ago in the Penal Days a priest said Mass there and when he was about to leave he was informed of the enemy's approach and he was forced to hide the Host in the trunk of the tree. It is said It remained there until Father Murphy's arrival about 1798.
