    that they will have good luck with the animals. They give about two shillings a head on cattle and sixpence on sheep. The animals are marked with raddle. The Christmas and Easter fairs are the greatest fairs of the year. There are special fairs in Carnew for horses and pigs. In July 1617 Thomas Freeman and John Dawson of London were granted permission to hold two fairs in Carnew.
