A bell used to be heard something like the Host and Chalice bell at this well every Christmas Eve at mid-night until a Protestant Gentleman named Baro who lived in Clonmore house and was landlord of the Parish of Bree at that time) was buried in Ballybrennan, and ever since that the bell was ever heard. - The Holy Wells in this district are scarce. There is a Holy Well near BallyBrenon Church yard, Bree, Co. Wexford.
Many people get cured of warts and other diseases at this Holy Well.
If the people of this district found lost property they would put it in a Holy Well.There is another Holy Well in Carton's field of Clonmore, Bree, Co. Wexford. The people do not visit this Holy Well very often. This Holy Well was opened by Cannon Sheil.- Collector
