drifts of snow on every road and people found it impossible to go to the town for food. Many sheep were covered with snow and many farmers were at the loss of their flocks. The cattle were in a bad condition and the farmers were not able to bring hay to them. The snow stayed on the ground for a week then it melted away leaving many indications of its fierceness.
