    Marriages most frequently take place in Shrove, and Wednesday is said to the the luckiest day for marriages. In olden times the people used to get married at night. In that time it was said that Friday was the luckiest day for marriages. They used to have a great supper in the bride's house. When the supper was over they used to have a great dance in the night it lasted until morning.
