  1. The blackbird and thrush build their nests in low bushes. The robin builds her nest in the side of a bank. The robin got her red breast when she saw our Lord on the cross with a crown of thorns on his head. The robin went over to pull the thorns out of our Lords head and a drop of blood fell on the robins breast, and ever since the robin has a red breast. The swallow builds her nest in the roofs of sheds. If yu rob a swallows nest it is said that your cows would milk blood. The crow builds her nest in a high tree. He makes her nest of sticks.
