    A riddle, a riddle, a farmer's fiddle,
    Alive in two ends and dead in the middle.?
    A man ploughing
    What has pains (panes) and is never sick?
    A window.
    Patch upon patch without any stitches, Riddle me that and I will buy you a breeches?
    A head of cabbage.
    A leaper of ditches, a cropper of corn.
    A tidy young fellow with two leather horns?
    A rabbit
    As I looked out through my grandfather's window I heard the roar of a dead car; his head made of flesh and his mouth made of horn, and such an old creature I never saw born?
    A cock crowing.
    What can go up a chimney down,
    and it can't go up a chimney up?
    An umbrella.
    Why does a cow look over a wall?
    Because she can't look under it.
