    The road from Ballincor
    Perhaps some school day friends I'd meet
    In old Shinrone once more
    I'd see again the old Fair Green
    The blacksmiths open door
    Poor Neddy's hammer's silent now
    No sparks fly o'er the floor
    The angelus I'd hear at noon
    Its message sweet to men
    The alter bell would tell the world
    That Christ was born again
    Yet in my dreams sometimes it seems
    I'm back in days of yore
    Oh, Time to night turn in your flight
    I'd see it all once more
    From the castle hill I'd gaze my fill
    And from its town height
