    the clench cutter then he heats it in the fire and when it is hot he shapes it and puts holes in it. Then he cools and puts it on the horse's foot. When the smith is shoeing wheels he does it in the open air about five or six yards from the forge. It is said that if you dip a wart in forge water for nine mornings it will cure it. Mr. Buckley was a blacksmith in the war and afterwards he came to Birr and started a forge.
