This village stands in the only gap of the surrounding ring of mountains and opens up the roads to fertile Kilkenny and North Carlow.Travelling nine miles north-west we reach the second most important town of Co. Carlow, namely Bagenalstown. Due south two miles is the village of Ballymurphy, whilst south-east three miles is the Wexford border
