As told by Thos. Tallon -
"This Ballad was made by Jim Broughan of Knockatomcoyle about 35 years ago. He was a fiddler + was the most undervaluing man ever lived or died. He was always smiling + making the height of fun of you. He was born in Knockatomcoyle but he left + at the latter end of his days + got married + died in Dublin. He is dead about 26 years. His father was the best fiddler in Ireland. Biddy has his fiddle + 'tis a Perry. Old Broughan used to teach the fiddle. I never heard them playing."
