The servant turned traitor and shot him as he approached the house Thinking he had a large band of followers with him no one ventured from the house. Next day Hackett was found dead near the road, traces of his blood were found in the snow from the house to the road. - The Rossiters of Ballymoyle were two brothers named John and James. They were young farmers who followed the Arklow leader Matthew Doyle of Beech Road, Arklow and took part in the Battle of Arklow.
