- The potatoe crop is grown on a large scale in Ireland, especially in the north. There are a great amount exported to England for seed purposes in latter years. A lot of potatoes are also used in the Alcohol factories, four of which have been established this last few years in Ireland.
There is a great amount of them used for human use. They are also used for pig feeding.
The early varieties are sown in the month of February and the main crop is sown in March or April.- Collector
