- About fifty six years ago Peter McPartland James, was out in Mr Johnston's wood picking nuts for Hallow Eve. He was about 15 or 16 years then. It was very late when he was coming home. Some black thing came out from the bushes, and said "good night" to Peter, and he said "good night" also, "Are you a good boxer"? said the fellow to him. "I am". The two of them began to box, and the fellow nearly killed Peter. He found that the lad was a piece of iron, the two of them stopped, and he is daft from that day till this.
- A woman named Margaret McGuire lived near Blacklion in a little rented house. She was living there for a long time, but she soon failed to pay the rent.
She was put out of the house, and a shoemaker bought it, but she told him that she would revenge dead or alive. The woman died later. One night when the shoemaker was mixing mortar on the floor, the woman came as a ghost, and hunted him, and would not let him finish his work.
The next day after the man got suddenly ill and went to hospital, where he died soon after.(continues on next page)
