  1. Here is a list of the farm and domestic animals at home. Cows, calves, horses, asses, pigs, hens, turkeys, foals, sows, sheep, mules, jennets, goats, cats, and dogs.
    The cows have names such as a
    '' polly '' cow or a '' maoilin ''
    cow, a '' short horn '' cow a
    '' kerry '' cow, a
    '' piebald '' cow, a '' roam '' cow, a '' magpie '' cow, and a '' baínín ''.
    When driving cows, some people say,
    '' go on '' up out of that, '' others say
    '' high up '', and others '' hip up
    out of that. ''
    When calling cows people say
    '' pruggy. '' The calves have names such as '' stirk.''
