As silly young slaves believe

For an Irishman is looked down upon
Who works with the shovel and pick
He's a drudge from the Isle of Irish and Con
And he's called a Paddy or Mick
He has no home he's a wandering slave
He is taunted with slurs and sneers

When the man with the scythe appears
He has no land for to call his own
And he has more foes than friends
