    Red sky in the morning, the shepherds warning.
    If the sky itself seems low down this is the sign of rain .
    Winds:The west and south west winds bring rain . The north wind brings sleet , snow and frost .
    Birds : When swallows fly high there is fine weather coming . When they fly low we in Cavan expect rain.
    Animals: It a cat sits with its back to the fire this is the sign of storm. It she begins to sharpen her claws on something made of wood this is also the sign of storm
    Dogs: If a good obedient dogs goes out and eats glass this is said to be the sign of storm.
    Cows : If a ow walks out of the byre by itself this is the sign of rain
