the spread very quickly. These weeds grow in poor land, where too much manure is put on. Nettles are good for turkeys when they are about three weeks old. Chicken weed is great for feeding pigs and people use it instead of cabbage. Evy leaves are used for dyeing clothes. Horans and dandelion grow in our district and are used for feeding pigs. Broom water is good for keeping (d) kidneys right. Tormented root is good to prevent indegestion. A poultice of chicken weed will cure a swelling. Burdog roots are good for a cough.

Certain days are looked upon as being lucky or unlucky. Monday and Thursday are looked upon for the curing of sprains.
Saturday is said to be unlucky for going from house to house. "Sneeze on Monday sneeze for danger. Sneeze on Tuesday, kiss a stranger.
