  1. In the year 1920 there was a dance in Hylands and when all the people was in that they had asked there came a crowd of men from below Lavey strand called the Hibernians or the A,O,H men, they crowded into the house and began to call name's to the sinn feins and the two parties fell out and they hit other with sticks and the tongs and crooks and someone hit the lamp and the light went out and the "Hibs' rushed to the door and went outside then the sinn Feins put all the furniture in the house to the door and when the Hibs saw they could not get in on the door they broke a gate and battered the windows with it and tried to get in but the sinn Feins was every side of the windows
