    out of our Lord's head and some of the blood fell on her breast and made it red.
    Generally when anyone sees a cuckoo it is followed by a smaller bird. It is supposed that it was in this bird's nest that the old cuckoo laid her egg and so the little bird thinks she is the cuckoo's mother.
    The birds have peculiar speech too. The crow says "Where, where", and the corncrake says "corncrake eat meat, knive, fork, spoon, plate."
