From the place where I am standing.
A spot which my fond heart.
    Shall never forget.
    But memory clings around it.
    So pure and so tender.
    That even its name
    Brings a throb of regret

    Still lonely enough.
    But could I recall them.
    Those bright golden hours.

    The grand River Erne.

    Passing silent and swiftly.
    By Mc Naboe's mill.
    Gliding under a bridge.
    Which encircles its bosom.
