    The gallant men of Ardleny, they out them through their drill.
    They ransacked all before them and destroyed the country.
    Till they were met by captain Kiernan at the Bush of Ardleny.
    When every parish had its sport and held its patron day.
    Thousands came from every part this glorious sight to see.
    Horse racing and cock-fighting and every other spree.
    Pipers, fiddlers and dancers came to the Bush of Ardleny
