  1. There are fairy forts in our district. The names they are called are forts. There are three fairy forts in Ardleny. They are within view of each other. They are all round in shape. There is a fence and stones around them. Ido not know any fairy forts with a hole in the centre of them. Ido not know of any stories attached to these forts. Dances were connected with them in olden times.
Fairy people were supposed to live in them. Inever heard of any stories of cats or other animals having been seen in or in the neighbourhood of these forts. The owners of the land where these forts were, never interfered with them when ploughing or planting crops. There was light to be seen in the fairy forts but Inever heard of music been heard in them. Fairies are supposed to have built the fairy forts. The people say that when you stand in one you can four. In olden times these holes were deep and the people went down in them and they said that they got gold in them. The people said that there used to be cats crying in them
