Three cheers my boys for Donohoe's Buck,
He was a great surprise,
A big black goat with a body coat,
And a clock across his eyes.
Across the road away he goes and that without delay
The first he met was Paddy Mack,
And he asked what time of day.
My clock is idle, Sir, he says,
I'm bound for Cavan town,
To have a chat with Lord Farnham,
Pray tell me where he's found,
Down near the Ulster Bank he says,
You'll get him in a crack,
And away he goes like lightning,
With his tail stretched on his back.

At Drumcarey cross - roads he did halt,
Where he boldly made a stand,
To have a chat with Gurdy,
And a summons in his hand.
