  1. In a field the property of Mr. P OReilly Mullamore, Castlerahan, Co Cavan is a Mass Rock. The field is a low lying boggy place and the rock is shaped something like (DRAWING) Near the rock is a cave where the priests and people might hide if the Redcoats came upon them.
    On the surrounding high hills sentinels were placed to give warning of the approach of the enemy.
    About twenty years ago some ammunition was found in the cave. The owner brought it to Dublin and it is now in the Museum we are told.
