   used to have sport of their own playing a game of their own called "Thave the poor Friar".
   On the twenty ninth of June there is a bon fire lit in honour of St Peter and Paul.
   There is a well in Carrickavee and the people used to go to it on a May day and the first person that got the first gallon of water brought the luck home with him.

   There is a well in James Lynch's field of Carrickavee and on the 14th of May every one was up at dawn to get the first gallon of water out of it. They thought it was lucky. The people on May Day used to tie a bit of red flannel and a little bit of a blessed candle in it to the cow's tail for luck and to have milk.
