    Gentle Jesus meek and mild.
    Look on me a little child.
    Make me humble as Thou art.
    And with Thy love inflame my heart.
    This should be said before you go to sleep.
    Prayers to be said going to bed at night.
    Here I lay myself down to sleep
    I give my soul to God to keep
    If any evil thing shall waken me
    The Blessed Virgin Mary sieze on me
    There are four corners on my bed
    There are four angels on it spread
    SS. Matthew, Mark, Luke and John
    God bless the bed that I lie on.
    Here I lie on my right side
    As Jesus lay on Mary's knee
    God be the branch, Blessed Lady be the flower
    Jesus be with me at my dying hour
    As I went into the house of God
    As Jesus went into the Garden
    That I may be as free from sin
