(continued from previous page)assizes to stand his trial in the month of March in Cavan town.- Long ago when the English would not allow the Catholics to have schools to teach in, the masters would have to teach the pupils at the back of a hedge. In Augjhdreenagh where my great Grand - Father lived, there was a hedge school on his farm. The masters name was Joseph Conolly who afterwards became the Judje of the Supreme Court in the State of New York.
He died in New York and there was a bronze statue erected(continues on next page)
