- One morning Michael Sheridan, an old cow herder, and a native of Ballyjamesduff, was going to the fair of Oldcastle. He had no clock, so he went to a house be - side him, and asked the time. He was told it was six o'clock and he went on till he came to the Chapel. He went a hundred yards past the Chapel, when a young girl dressed in white, with hair hanging to her waist, stepped out in front of him, and wouldn't let him pass.
