    Once upon a time they visited a cabin where there was an unfortunate man who had to go about on crutches. The came to the window and asked him to light a pipe for them. He did so, and they then persuaded him to come outside, and having put him on horseback brought him miles and miles from his own home. They were unable to return before twelve o'clock, so he was obliged to walk him, which he did without the slightest difficulty. However, on arriving
