    intentions were frustrated by the timely action of the late Rev. Tom Blake, a priest of the parish. He entered the Lodge, knowing full well that the Catholics would not set it on fire when they knew that he was inside. The Catholics, therefore, gave up their attempt to burn the place.
    Several lives were saved by the action of Father Blake. The fair of Mull is still held each year on the 12th August in commemoration of the battle.
