    magic, and I was left standing alone in the field. I had the football in my hand when the when the game stopped, but when I looked at it, with the light of the moon, I found that it was not a football at all, - it was a road lump of hard dry clay. But the soreness did not disappear so quickly from my ribs, and I was not able to do a "tap" of work for a week afterwards.
